About David Anderson

I’m David Anderson, founder of Wichita OCD Center. I am Licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas. I live in Wichita, my hometown, with my wife and son. Before we begin working together, it might be helpful to know a little bit more about my experience and background:

Education

Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, The University of Kansas, 2005

Volunteer Experience

I joined the Peace Corps after graduating from KU and spent three years working as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Eastern Europe. I was lucky to work with an organization that reintegrated children from state-run orphanages back into their homes and communities. This work was deeply meaningful to me, and I have wonderful memories about my time in the Peace Corps.

Counseling Work and Training

I began my career as a therapist after I returned to the States. I quickly became interested, and then passionate about, treating OCD and other related disorders.

I have many years of experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat OCD and other Obsessive-Compulsive Related Disorders.

I am also trained by the Tourette Association of America in the diagnosis and treatment of Tourette’s and other Tic disorders.

Professional Memberships

I am a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). Over the years, I have leaned heavily on them in my training.

I’m also a member of the Tourette Association of America, the Association for Play Therapy, and ICT OCD Alliance.
